Classification of Escalators

1 according to the location of the drive device classification
1.1 End-driven escalator (or chain type), the drive device is placed in the head of the escalator, and the escalator with the chain as the traction member.
1.2 Intermediate drive escalator (or rack type), the drive device is placed between the upper and lower branches in the middle of the escalator, and the rack is used as the traction member of the escalator. An escalator can be equipped with more than one set of driving device, also known as multi-stage drive combination escalator.
2 Classification according to the type of traction member
2.1 Chain escalator (or end-driven), with chain as the traction member and drive device placed at the head of the escalator.
2.2 Rack-type escalator (or middle-driven type), with the rack as the traction member and the driving device placed in the middle of the escalator between the upper branch and the lower branch of the escalator.
3 Classification according to the appearance of escalator handrail
3.1 Transparent handrail escalator, handrail with only fully transparent tempered glass support escalator.
3.2 Semi-transparent handrail escalator, handrail with semi-transparent tempered glass and a small amount of support for the escalator.
3.3 Opaque handrail escalator, handrail with bracket and covered with opaque sheet to support the escalator.
4 Classification of Escalator Route Types
4.1 Straight escalator, escalator ladder route for straight escalator.
4.2 spiral escalator, escalator ladder route for spiral escalator.
5 Classification of automatic sidewalks
5.1 step-type sidewalk, by a series of steps composed of movable pavement, equipped with movable handrails on both sides of the sidewalk.
5.2 steel belt-type sidewalks, in the whole steel belt covered with rubber layer composed of movable roadway, equipped with movable handrails on both sides of the sidewalk.
5.3 Double line type sidewalk, by a pin vertical placement of the traction chain to form a back and forth two branches, in the horizontal plane of the closed profile, in order to form a back and forth two running in the opposite direction of the automatic sidewalk. With movable handrails on both sides.
